River Banks Zoo & Garden
One of the 10 great zoos in America, Riverbanks offers more than 2,000 animals in re-created natural habitats as diverse as Pcific coral reef and an African savannah. The Ndoki Forest has gorillas, elephants, meerkats, giraffes, zebras, and rhinos. The Australian exhibit fetures koalas, lorikeets, and wallibies. Just across the scenic Lower Saluda River are 70 acres of woodlands, gardens, historic ruins and plant collections.

State Farmers’ Market

Peaches, potatoes, turnips, and tomatoes—all arrive daily by the truckload in season at one of the largest produce markets in the SE. Perennial and annual flowers and plants also sold in the 500 open stalls.

Arts & Entertainment

SC's largest fine art museum emphasizesa broad spectrum of European and American fine and decorative arts dating from the 14th century to the present. Main floor galleries contain American and European art from World War II to the present. Second floor galleries contain art from the Middle Ages to pre-World War II. Included is the Samuel H. Kress Collection of Italian Rennaissance and Baroque art of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
